Selling on impulse means your product / service usually does not feature on a shopping list and it?s not planned before leaving the house by mental note (?must remember to buy??). Sweets are great examples. For these businesses, ?location, location, location? is crucial! Attractive fixture (shelves, signboards, etc?) becomes a key difference between a customer spotting you thus feeling tempted to buy and walking by your store and ignoring it. Destination products can be marketed differently. You will still need to invest in brand awareness to drive traffic to your locations but if your product is worth referring to friends then shoppers will not mind the extra walk or drive and you save significant dollars on lower rent locations. Are you selling impulse or destination?
